Meet the Course Director

Sophia Webster
Dr. Sophia Webster

Dr Webster has worked for 10 years as a senior clinician in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Her areas of interest include high risk obstetrics, shared decision making, clinical education, medical ethics and law and global health. She is from the UK but currently working in Dubai.

She is a clinical examiner for the MRCOG Part 3 examination and deputy convenor for the RCOG Operative Vaginal Birth Simulation Training (ROBuST) course. Dr Webster is actively involved in clinical teaching and simulation training in the UK and overseas, with a particular focus on intrapartum care. She has led many vacuum masterclasses.

As a training doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dr Webster spent a year working in South Africa. Since then, she has participated in many teaching and advocacy projects in women's health internationally, with a focus on sub-Sahara.

Providing high quality, woman-centred care is her priority and through education Dr Webster tries to help practitioners around the world enhance their clinical skills, particularly related to assisted vaginal birth.
