About the Speaker

Sanjeev Madaan, PhD, FRCS (Urol), FEBU

Prof Madaan is a Consultant Urological Surgeon and the lead clinician for the treatment of urological cancer at Darent Valley Hospital (DVH), Dartford. He is an expert laparoscopic & Robotic surgeon, he has performed more than 800 major cancer operations (including prostate, bladder and kidney).
Prof Madaan has a regional & national profile. He is an expert advisor to NICE centre for Guidelines and was involved in writing latest prostate cancer guidelines published in 2019. He is chairman of Urology tumour group at Kent & Medway cancer alliance and has been awarded National Bronze clinical excellence award.
He is also lead for Urology cancer research in KSS (Kent, Surrey & Sussex) and has more that 80 peer-reviewed publications. He has interest in teaching and is actively involved in the laparoscopic training. Prof Madaan has started various new services at DVH including hyperthermia MMC for the treatment of bladder cancer and supported self-management for patients with prostate cancer. He is winner of ‘DVH hospital innovation and improvement award 2015’. His research interests include haematuria, superficial bladder cancer management, active surveillance for prostate cancer and prostate cancer survivorship.
