This 2-day course provides comprehensive didactic lecture with Dr. Mikel Gray, PhD, NP and Dr. Natalie E. Barganski, DNP, APRN.

A comprehensive review of the procedures for pediatric multichannel urodynamic testing, discussing elements of the filling cystometrogram, essential elements of voiding pressure flow study and integrated interpretation of urodynamic findings applicable to clinical practice and decision making.

Learning Objectives:

  • Generate reproducible and valid urodynamic data.
  • Identify fundamental urodynamic findings such as detrusor overactivity, low bladder wall compliance, urodynamic stress incontinence, underactive detrusor function and obstruction.
  • Apply these findings to an integrated interpretation of urodynamic findings applicable to clinical practice and decision making while observing live in-person urodynamic cases.

About the speaker

Dr. Mikel Gray

PhD, PNP, FNP, CUNP, CCCN, FAANP, FAAN

Dr. Gray is a Professor and Nurse Practitioner with the Department of Urology (School of Medicine) and the Department of Acute and Specialty Care at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He is the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing and is a board member of the Society’s Center for Clinical Investigation.

He has authored or co-authored 3 books and authored more than 50 chapters and 200 articles in peer reviewed journals. He has both lectured nationally and internationally on topics related to neurologic urology, and urodynamic testing, urology nursing, wound, ostomy, and continence nursing and evidence-based practice.

Dr. Gray is a past president of both the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates (SUNA) and the Certification board for the Urologic Nurses and Associates. He has received awards for contributions to Urologic and WOC nursing respectively and is a National Association for Continence Care Champion.

Natalie Barganski

Natalie Barganski is a nationally recognized leader in pediatric urology whose clinical expertise, educational leadership, and dedication to advancing the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) role make her an exceptional candidate for the APP of the Year Award. Since joining Driscoll Children’s Hospital in 2009, she has elevated pediatric urologic care through her expertise in urodynamics, management of complex bladder disorders, and commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care. As a Pediatric Urodynamic Trainer, Past Chair of the PUNS Urodynamic Special Interest Group, and Co-Founder and Instructor of the Pediatric Urodynamic Course, she has trained and mentored APPs and nurses nationwide, helping expand the scope and impact of APP-led specialty care. Through her clinical excellence, national education efforts, and community advocacy for children with complex urologic conditions, Barganski continues to advance the field while serving as a role model for current and future APPs.

What is the dress code?

Scrubs and business casual are both appropriate.

What is included with my registration?

Breakfast, lunch, all-day beverages and snacks on Thursday and Friday are all included. Travel, hotel and parking fees are not included.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations made 11 days+ before the first course day — Laborie will refund tuition minus a $150.00 administrative fee. Cancellations made 10 days or less before first course day, or no shows, will not be refunded.
