Angie Clarke, RN, BSc (Hons), PG Cert, MSc
Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Gynaecology
Angies “happy place” is urogynaecology. Becoming an NMC registered adult nurse as a mature person, Angie has worked in gynaecology for twenty years. Five years as a ward nurse and fifteen years as an advanced clinical practitioner.
A certified urodynamic nurse for thirteen years, introducing treatments of bladder instillations for IC/BPS and OAB and PTNS for refractory OAB to her service provision was a no brainer. Funding for the PTNS service set up was raised through the funds awarded by recruiting women to the SIMS and FUTURE studies the team were part of. Experience in PTNS clinics for over seven years has given her a well rounded understanding of this treatment.
Angie provide services of vaginal pessary management for pelvic organ prolapse, uroflow/post void residual clinics to manage urinary retention with CISC, continence clinics for medication including bladder instillation treatments, urodynamics when conservative managements have failed.
Angie also sees women to perform outpatient hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsies for post menopausal bleeding and work alongside the acute on take gynaecology team.
