Dr. Jafar Jafari

Jafar Jafari graduated in Medicine and was awarded MD in 2000 from Tehran Azad University; Iran. He worked as a General Practitioner initially and later achieved his PhD in Neurogastroenterology from Queen Mary, University of London in 2014. His current position is Head of Upper GI Physiology at the Guy’s and St Thomas’ Foundation Trust Hospitals; London.
He is proficient in oesophageal High Resolution Manometry, ambulatory small bowel manometry, impedance-pH reflux monitoring, wireless reflux monitoring, Hydrogen and C13 GI breath testing. His special research interest is in oesophageal motility disorders, gastroesophageal reflux disease, effect of prokinetics on oesophageal motility and his work has led to publishing more than 120 research papers and presentations.
