This one day course is designed to provide an educational opportunity for urodynamics examiners who seek assistance in interpreting urodynamic test results and applying this to their practice.

Learning Objectives:

  • To understand the key indications and components of urodynamics and how to define a clear question prior to starting investigations.
  • To learn accepted physiological parameters for lower urinary tract functions and apply these to a concise method of interpreting urodynamic results.
  • To acknowledge the limitations of an investigation when attempting to reproduce pathology in an artificial environment.

Dr Mikel Gray,
PhD, PNP, FNP, CUNP, CCCN, FAANP, FAAN

Dr Gray is a Professor and Nurse Practitioner with the Department of Urology (School of Medicine) and the Department of Acute and Specialty Care at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He is the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing and is a board member of the Society’s Center for Clinical Investigation.

 

He has authored or co-authored 3 books and authored more than 50 chapters and 200 articles in peer reviewed journals. He has both lectured nationally and internationally on topics related to neurologic urology, and urodynamic testing, urology nursing, wound, ostomy, and continence nursing and evidence-based practice.

 

Dr Gray is a past president of both the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates (SUNA) and the Certification board for the Urologic Nurses and Associates. He has received awards for contributions to Urologic and WOC nursing respectively and is a National Association for Continence Care Champion. 

Dr Gray was recently awarded the American Urological Association's 2022 Advanced Practice Provider (APP) of the Year.

What is the dress code?

Scrubs and business casual are both appropriate.

What is included in my registration?

Breakfast, lunch, and all-day beverages and breaks on Thursday are all included. Travel, hotel and parking fees are not included.

What is the cancellation policy?

For cancellations made more than 10 days before the first day of the course, Laborie will apply the course fee to a future course (within one year) or refund tuition minus a $150 administrative fee.

Cancellations made 10 days or less, before the first course day will not be refunded. No-shows will not be refunded.

Laborie reserves the right to cancel any or all parts of these workshops without prior notice and shall not be held responsible for any travel costs incurred by registrant.

Who should attend?

This one-day course is designed for medical professionals who have little or no experience with Urodynamic testing, and for those with some experience to become more comfortable with performing Urodynamics.
